The heavily weathered oak doors were partially repaired by the carpenter and the old locks were made functional again. Our natural wood specialists stripped the doors, neutralized them following old processes, brightened and restored them with open-pored oil stains.
The exposed concrete in the semi-basement was treated in various layers with a violet silicate stain, and the evening balconies in the back were enhanced with colourful accents. The entrance to the exposed concrete staircase received large-sized, colourful, robust vinyl wallpaper. The exposed concrete floors were finished with a protective glaze coating of matching colour.
The building is certified for Minergie (a sustainability brand for new and refurbished buildings), and all coating products were accordingly chosen with much care. Our team for new buildings coated the large surfaces with high-performance airless equipment. Our painter sprayed the furniture front with water-diluted, heavy-duty 2K-PUR-Lack enamel. The glulam beams received two coatings of Biofa Hartöl.
All white plaster walls received geo-membrane wallpaper and a harmoniously coloured coating of mineral paint. The reception area and the small design islands in the hallways were designed in gilt bronze (Keim). The walls of the dementia unit were given a brush-on plaster, which was then painted in a red to violet fickle coloured coat. The exposed concrete sections of the facade were enhanced with a coat of green glazed silicate paint. (Colour design by Truecolor, Lucerne)
FACADE RESTORATIONS

The uncoated facade was approximately ten years old and heavily defiled by algae and fungi, yet the plaster was mostly in good condition except for a few mends. The connection joints had to be replaced. The facade was cleaned with high pressure and cold water and protected with a double coating of StoPrim Fungal. The facade was then painted twice in the desired colour with Sto Fungasil.

WALLPAPERING
A high-resolution digital print on HP paper sized to 8.30 x 4.2 meters was applied to the show room. The adjoining wall was painted in a matt, washable, drank brown Le Corbusier colour. In the production facility we coated 30,000 square meters of concrete surface.

The delivery room and hallways were papered with digitally printed canvas showcasing the artwork of Jörg Niederberger. We feel confident that developing and creating customized wall designs offers great potential. The client received a unique product that was custom-produced for them.

HISTORIC BUILDINGS
Our artisans periodically retouch the damages on the facade paintings with mineral pigments dissolved in water. The wooden construction elements are refreshed with oil paints. The wrought-iron banister was re-painted and re-gilded.

The protected building from 1880 has mostly been preserved in its original condition. The originally applied colours were identified through subsurface and colour analysis. The «gewormserte» (machine applied) lime plaster was partially refinished and consequently refreshed with pigmented lime stains. The soffits, roof beams and tile battens were given an oil paint coating, the wooden shutters were stripped and glazed with an oil stain mixed in-house. The oxidising iron mountings were simply lubricated.
The VIP lounge for a large, international company used to be a riding stable. The old surfaces were cleaned and restored with oil stains, oil colours, mineral colours, decorative oil stains and gold leaf. Old brass elements were reconstructed and cleaned. The facade received a coating of manually mixed oil stains with the colours of oxide black, dark brown and green earth.
ORNAMENTAL PAINTING
1,000m2 of exposed concrete were designed by Viennese artist Peter Kogler. In collaboration with the company Alpha Sign from Hünenberg we technically implemented the design: 1,500 silk-screen prints on paper, cut to form and placed and hung within a three-week period.

For the restaurant area we collected palm-sized stones from the river Reuss, cut and placed them in a loose pattern on the walls. The walls were subsequently plastered with a fine lime plaster and painted. A large-format digital print (a cherry tree from Zug in the winter time) was wallpapered on the main wall. The acoustic ceiling was sprayed in black-blue and gives the design its finishing touch. Together with the multicolour LED lighting a changing ambiance is created in the room.
Several bunkers from the First and Second World War are situated along the channels of Escher and Linth. In the context of restoring the channels, the outsides of the bunkers were cleaned. In collaboration with the company Alpha Sign from Hünenberg we applied large-format, abstracted images and protected them subsequently with a semi-permanent anti-graffiti.
SEAMLESS WALL AND FLOOR COVERINGS
A mix of mineral raw materials, white cement and siliceous sand is low-maintenance, tear-resistant, sturdy and breathable. Said materials ensure that the touch of the Naturofloor feels extremely comfortable. The covering is suitable for floors and walls, including in wet areas. Our professional craftsmen create glazed or opaque surfaces according to your needs and requirements.

COLOUR DESIGN
The entire restaurant area was designed with high-quality kt.COLOR paints and appears very harmonious in spite of the strong shades of colour. We have been satisfied for years with the handmade paints, created by paint manufacturer kt.COLOR from Uster. We often use the products, which are manufactured with select and sometimes unique pigments, in the context of sophisticated colour schemes. Every year, our painter masters Eugen Huwiler and Thery Bircher continue to educate themselves as “Masters of Colour”.
We gently woke this bijou villa on the Lake of Lucerne from its big sleep. Each room of this historic hotel was individually, subtly and respectfully designed with high-quality paints and wallpaper.
